NOTES: This course emphasizes how to recognize pre-stop indicators, selecting target vehicles / locations, successful roadside interviews, establishing articulable reasonable suspicion to continue a stop, and important case law on how and why officers can extend traffic stops and broaden the scope of searches. Finally, officers will be provided with tools on how to build a successful case on patrol, and forwarding information to detectives/investigators.
